There‚Äôs more than one secret in the old Blackmoore house. Some have been buried for a long time and some are sitting closer to the surface.

Morgan and Fiona Blackmoore enjoy their simple life in the sleepy ocean-side town of Noquitt Maine where they offer herbal remedies and crystal healing for locals and tourists alike.

...Until Morgan is accused of killing the town shrew, Prudence Littlefield.

Suddenly the girls find themselves scrambling to find the real killer while they battle a crooked Sheriff, planted evidence, and a long list of suspects that all had a reason to want Prudence dead.

Handsome Jake Cooper is new to the Noquitt Maine police force, which is exactly why Fiona Blackmoore doesn't trust him. But with time running out and the evidence against her sister piling up, Fiona has to make a choice - will she trust Jake with her sisters case ... and her own heart?

Add in an old mansion on the cliffs of Maine, an attic full of mysterious treasures, and a cat that has the uncanny ability to show up at exactly the right time and Fiona has her hands full proving the Sheriff's accusations about her sister being a murderer are Dead Wrong.

I enjoy her books because they come to the point quickly with not a lot of dead chatter making the story linger.
  • I just love Leighann Dobbs!

I'm only giving three stars because Dobbs's books are often full of grammatical mistakes and typos. For example, she commonly uses the word "her" instead of "she" which is not a mistake I would expect from any native English speaker. Here is an excerpt from Dead Wrong for proof: "After all, it was just a big room... well, more than a room as it comprised the whole fourth floor of the mansion her and her sisters lived in." This should, of course, be "...she and her sisters..." Otherwise, I'm actually a huge fan of Dobbs. Her books are concise with just the right amount of detail, and they are always entertaining. I would highly recommend her books to anyone who likes a good read and isn't too bogged down by the numerous grammatical mistakes and typos.

Thank you. Great characters, story line, and location. Great read. I read it in just a few days. Well done.
  • More romance than mystery. Fast read.

Nothing to do with witches except a cat that appears at odd times. Better than the bakery series. "Cupcake", "Danish" and this were free so I read them all. They are not to my taste but I think readers who prefer romance novels would enjoy them. The writing keeps getting better; it left me wanting to know what happens next. But then I can guess.

An enjoyable easy read! I especially liked the relationship between the Blackmoore sisters: Morgan, Fiona, Celeste, and Jolene. Unfortunately, this ebook also featured copious spelling and grammatical errors.
  • It was okay

It wasn't bad just okay. There's no real romance except the mention of a few kisses but that's it. Simple mystery of who did it and why but will leave you with more questions about other characters. I skipped quit a bit in this book....

I haven't been reading for more than 5 minutes and I've already cringed over the same grammatical error twice (so far). "Her and her sister", honestly? It's "SHE and her sister"! Hire a proofreader! Geez.
