In a rising Saudi Arabian city, far from weary, recession-scarred America, a struggling businessman named Alan Clay pursues a last-ditch attempt to stave off foreclosure, pay his daughter's college tuition, and finally do something great. In A Hologram for the King, Dave Eggers takes us around the world to show how one man fights to hold himself and his splintering family together.

This book lead up to a pitiful ending. Don't waste your time.
  • An uneventful read

I kept reading hoping the next chapter was more interesting, suspenseful, etc. Didn't happen. Hope in this case the movie is better than the book.

This book was really a disappointment. The main character's life story is filled with sadness and disappointments. He is out of motiviation and overall, just a deflated person. The story never goes anywhere and then ends abruptly with more dissapointment. There was truly no point in reading the story, it just causes frustration with the character for his lack of will.
