Description

The worldwide bestseller—soon to be a major motion picture directed by Steven Spielberg.

In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he's jacked into the virtual utopia known as the OASIS. Wade's devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world's digital confines—puzzles that are based on their creator's obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them.

But when Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade's going to survive, he'll have to win—and confront the real world he's always been so desperate to escape.

This is honestly the best book I have ever read. I believe fully in the ability of the god of a writer that is Ernest Cline. I can’t wait for a new novel. And I most definitely want to see what you have in store for all of us. I personally enjoy your writing as a whole. Keep fighting the good fight.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm an old computer game geek and played all the games in the book (that should give away my age). I can't wait for the movie!

I have read this book three times now and it still never gets old, it brings back wonderful memories from my childhood when I would go to the arcade and play all the classic coin operated machines and all the movie references such as war games really just make this book my absolute favorite. Absolutely a read for anyone who enjoys nostalgic throwback books

Fun premise. Likable character on the hero's quest. Standard corporate villainy. Supporting characters are fairly developed, but not necessarily likable. Too many instances of Deus ex machina. Characters just happen to know or do the impossible to keep the story rollin'.
