Description

The riveting first-person narrative of a young man who grows to be the most notorious magician his world has ever seen. From his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, to years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime- ridden city, to his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic, The Name of the Wind is a masterpiece that transports readers into the body and mind of a wizard. It is a high-action novel written with a poet's hand, a powerful coming-of-age story of a magically gifted young man, told through his eyes: to read this book is to be the hero.

This is a story on a whole different level. It will straight up take you away. When you close this book, you will have to take a min to come back to reality.

10 stars. Easily the single most beautiful book I've ever read! I can barely come up with a review that would do justice. I'm not a fantasy guru or any kind of expert, just a lover of great things. This book is one of the greatest things.

This series is the best. Definitely my favorite thing in the world. Can't wait to read the conclusion. If it's ever completed of course. Some kind of a timeline would be nice. But anyways...this book is amazing. You should read it. Thank you!

Patrick Rothfuss knows how to write an amazing story, and he has created one of the most believable worlds in fantasy writing.

First, I must apologize to the few to whom this story is beyond their grasp. Patrick Rothfuss has went beyond the mere world of fantasy and delved deep into the human spirit. The effort he pours into the story is beyond that which some of the greatest authors shy away from. As we approach the time when the final tomb in this trilogy is released, I feel concerned that the author will lose even more of himself to Kvothe. Good luck Patrick and your sanity be damned, finish the tale as you began it, pouring all of yourself into it......RW
