Have My Baby
I have three words for this book; melt my heart! Well done Taryn Quinn💜.
Have My Baby
There were a lot of five star ratings for this book, it was why I chose to read it. I gave it three because of the over use of language that I felt took away from what could have been a really sweet love story. I am no prude and can get into the sex talk at appropriate moments, but I found myself cringing several times throughout the book. Otherwise, a good story line, likeable characters, and well written.
I love books like this, friends into lovers. That's basically what this story is. Yes, Seth comes up with a weird-as-hell plan to get a sibling for his daughter from a previous relationship. But, come on, really... Is there anything hotter than a single dad who so obviously loves his little girl?
Ally has been Seth's best friend for years, so witnessing the dynamics change between Seth and Ally was a joy to watch. Even with Ally's, sometimes comical, escapes.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Have My Baby, but now I have to wonder what Taryn Quinn might have up the sleeve for Oliver, Seth's twin brother. Curiously waiting.
HOLY EXPLODING OVARIES!!!
Holy exploding ovaries!
Did you see that cover? Lawd, after the first glance I needed a moment or ten for my heart and parts south to stop fluttering.
After getting us wound up with the famazing cover, Taryn Quinn doubles down with a sexy, doting, single father to an adorable 4 yr. old girl; a down-to-earth heroine who’s been his BFF since high school; and a fun and surprisingly emotional story. Despite making me tear up a few times, it has a lighter feel than the normal TQ story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I adored the heroine from her first appearance. She’s a straight shooter with a soft heart who let the hero get away with very little. He’s hot, devoted to those he loves, but sometimes a typical male whose cluelessness causes unnecessary angst. Once they give in to the chemistry that’s been simmering for over a decade, things heat up quickly and often. They quickly make up for lost time, and it’s incredibly erotic.
The heroine’s best friend is an absolute riot, and the hero’s twin brother grumpily sexy. They’re less than fond of each other, so their snarkiness adds a real punch to the story. I can only hope we see these two again, together or with other partners.
Having My Baby definitely has all sorts of feels, but what I loved most was the banter between the characters, both main and secondary. It was clever & snarky, and I hope Taryn Quinn has more stories like this in store for us soon.
Great quick read
I absolutely loved this quick awesome read by Taryn Quinn. Ally is a great character that never told her best friend how much she loved her best friend and helped him raise his little girl. Seth wants another child and asks Ally to be the coparent since they are such great friends. What could go wrong. Taryn Quinn has one it again and has written a book that you don't wAnt to put down.
Loving This Friends To Lover Read
Insta-love? Nah, more like a delicious awareness that's been percolating just below the surface for quite some time. Suffice to say that the lovely and talented ladies that make up Taryn Quinn have done another great job of delivering an immensely readable and totally enjoyable book that is chock-full of friendship, requited love, steamy times galore, and one heck of a cute kid.
The longtime friendship between Seth and Ally makes for a slightly complicated foray into the not-so-friends-only zone, and ratchets up the heat to inferno temps. Fan, anyone? Seth is a won't take no for an answer kind of guy (because, duh, he is a guy), which is somehow charming here, mostly, I think, because Ally's sassy and strong ability to call him on all of his guy-ness.
So, sexy, sweet, and downright heartwarming, plus a curmudgeonly twin brother (his) and a hoot of a best friend (hers) that both deserve a story of their own? How could this be anything less than a 4.5 star read for me? Don't let the title mislead you; Taryn Quinn fans old and new will love HAVE MY BABY, because it is so much more than you're expecting. Add it, read it, love it.
Funny and cute!

Ok, this was pretty comical. Only a guy can fumble up asking his best friend to let him knock her up by contract. It took almost half the book for Seth to realize how badly his proposal sounded, but it didn't change the fact that he still wanted a baby with Ally. He wants his daughter to have siblings and he can't think of any woman better for providing said siblings. It also opened his eyes to his true feelings for her and unlocked his libido. If she wasn't so skittish and running away all the time, he might actually convince her this was a good idea. Despite their years of being friends only, once Seth started looking at Ally like a woman, his attention to her was pretty hot. Little 4 year old Laurie was adorable and to see Seth be such a good dad to her was even hotter. This was a funny story that turned super cute at the end. This was my first read from this author and I was completely entertained. I will be checking out more books from her. ARC provided by NetGalley.
Loved Seth and Ally

I really enjoyed Seth and Ally's story. They have been best friends since they were teenagers. Ally has always loved Seth, but the feelings were never mutual. When Seth asks Ally to have a kid with him because he trusted her, she is completely thrown for a loop. The feelings that she has for him are so strong, but can she just have a kid with him and walk away. Seth goes into things with Ally for all of the wrong reasons, when he realizes he is head over heals for her and then has to fix the mess he has made.
I liked the story and the characters. I'm intrigued by Seth's brother and Ally's best girlfriend Sage. I'm hoping they get their stories told, too. This was an enjoyable read.
