"Possessive. Protective. Territorial. Philip Murphy is exactly what I want in an alpha-male!" - Lynda Chance, New York Times bestselling author

A thrilling new standalone novel from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren…

Dark. Powerful. Dangerous.

Philip Murphy has all of Chicago under his thumb. Except me.

We met in a perfect storm of violence and lust. He saved me and then disappeared from my life. Now I pretend I never knew that kind of darkness. I focus on midterms and campus parties, as if they can wipe the slate clean.

Then he turns up outside my dorm room—wounded and barely conscious. He’s the head of a criminal empire, a powerful man, but he needs me now. There are traitors in his midst.

I can help him, but I can’t fall for him.

Not again.

"Intriguing, raw and captivating through the end, this book sizzles with intensity and achingly real characters. Do not miss this!" Lina's Reviews, A Book Blog

"Deep is an incredibly erotic, emotionally captivating story that left me craving for more. Skye Warren consistently delivers raw, powerful, and seductive writing that grabs ahold of the reader with full force and doesn't let go." - Sammy, Just Let Me Read

    > > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < B&W composition. Good-looking, tattooed model as main focal point. Strong font & Color choices. "Chicago" catches my eye enough to read synopsis. Synopsis is a dual turn-off for me. I'm not a fan of college romances nor am I fan of mafia / crime romances. This is one I'd pass on based on Cover and Blurb. > > Looking Deeper < < Note: While I have purchased a handful or more books by this author to-date, this is the first book that I have read and reviewed of hers. That said, I'd like it to be known that this is not a trope I'd normally read (Mafia / Crime). POV ~> First Person, heroine's perspective. Philip is powerful and controlling; brashly arrogant, yet he's just this side of likable. His lifestyle is questionable. She is a brat, in virtually all senses of the word - I guess you could say it's a brat romance, before they became a thing. She's approximately 15 years his junior. What started as a brief NON-SEXUAL encounter when she was a teen, progressed into an almost Obsessed Stalker quality once she was a New Adult. She's still in need of some serious therapy from her ordeal as a teen, her family is crap, her friends are crap. Her choices are juvenile, irresponsible, and reckless. She STILL IS a "broken little girl", yet no one does anything about it. Oh - and she cries a lot and he seems to enjoy putting her in those situations, then coddling and comforting her through it. It's all rather sketchy. Mind games, manipulation... blech, no thanks! HOWEVER..... the writing style and the general, overall plot had a magnetic pull that kept me going back to find out what the heck was going on! By the halfway point, it had become less about Philip and Ella, and more about the story development happening around them. The dark and angsty current that swept me through the chapters offered a dynamic and diversely rich story that I'd normally not pick up to read on my own. There were conflicts of the self-imposed sort as well as outside influences. All of which were addressed for the main couple. Predictability was low. The conclusion was solid, but left me wondering about the future of such characters as Adrian and Tyler. I'd recommend this author for it's dark suspense driven plots and superbly silky flow, but caution that the content is not suitable for more delicate readers. Abduction, prostitution, rape, murder, and the like are present and detailed to various degrees. . I started the series and I didn't really like Phillip. He was cold hard, uncaring. But after reading deep, I love the man he became, and I want another book to read to see where his life goes in love. I love reading Skye's books, they keep me hooked. Very good book. Deffinetly recommend this to anyone who loves a good book.
