Description

Lacey Benoit is in need of a fresh start. Her best friend, Dr. Zoe Millis, has been begging her to make the move from Maine to California.  Taking a leap of faith, Lacey does just that.

Living in San Diego definitely has its perks, such as, sunshine and beaches.  The best part of moving to the west coast, however, is that Steven is still on the east coast.  Catching your almost husband having sex with one of your bridesmaids on your wedding day would make even the strongest woman jaded.  Therefore, Lacey has sworn off men for a while, especially men who travel a lot that have easy access to loose women.

When Lacey meets the new enforcer for the San Diego Scorpions, she thinks she might be in trouble.  But she is determined to fight her attraction to the sexy NHL hunk.  And she is successful ... for about a day.

Very poorly written. It's like the author knew exactly what she wanted to talk about but didn't know how to write it in an engaging, interesting or believable way. Also the author doesn't understand what feminism is (“Jody, I’m not a feminist. I like taking care of my man. I like cooking for you.”) and doesn't understand bipolar disorder either.

When referring to a San Diego residence a block from the ocean with a trolley stop 2 blocks away, you are way off base for San Diego readers. No such animal exists. Nor are any planned. However, you did well with knowing there is an Olive Garden a couple of blocks from the Sports Arena where pro hockey & indoor soccer games are played. Nice story.

when i began reading this book, i was excited. the summary hinted at an enticing plot. however about a chapter or so in i was yet to be impressed. brushing it off as simply a rough beginning, i finished the book. with much disappointment i must add. the characters were so clear that everything they did i had already guessed. there was no surprise whatsoever... especially with the ending. it seems as if the author tried to make them complex, but failed. since this story is such an intimate, first person look into a woman's life, solid characters are a key component. the plot was golden, shame it had to be wasted by lack of effort...
  • You are a feminist honey

Read the words “Jody, I’m not a feminist. I like taking care of my man. I like cooking for you. I just don’t like it when you try to control what I do” and had to stop
